1. Start today

2. Choose small, short term goals

3. Put one step in front of the other

4. Go easy on yourself

5. Expect to encounter setbacks

6. Keep on going

7. Expect to succeed.

1. Try saying “yes” instead on “no”.

2. Don’t allow your feelings to dictate your behaviour.

3. Travel to somewhere you haven’t been before.

4. Spend time with people who are different from you.

5. Try a new food, or learn or new skills.

6. Live in the present, not the future or the past.

7. Do something different – that scares you – every day.

1. What option would I choose if I knew I would definitely succeed?

2. What would I do if I didn’t feel scared?

3. Who can I talk to who’s been in my shoes?

4. What are the likely outcomes of each choice and decision?

5. What is the worst thing that could happen; what is the best thing that could happen?

6. Am I making this decision for myself, or am I choosing to please other people?

1. “I love you”

2. “I’ll be here if you need me”

3. “Me too”

4. “I’m sorry”

5. “It was my fault”

6. “Forget it. It’s no big deal”

7. “No.”

You cannot change what you refuse to confront.

So I close my eyes to old ends and open my heart to new beginnings.

That risk you’re afraid to take could change your life.

The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change.

I didn’t change; I just see things differently now.

There are things we don’t want to happen but have to accept; things we don’t want to know but have to learn; and people we can’t live without but have to let go.
